Mediacom debuts RFD-TV in HD

| 29 June 2016

Mediacom Communications has launched RFD-TV in high definition across its national footprint.

RFD-TV, a US national television network dedicated to the rural and western lifestyle, offers programming like Market Day Report and Rural Evening News, key sources of agribusiness and rural news for the approximately 60 million Americans who live in rural areas. It also has shows like On the Road with Noble Outfitters, which showcases independent retailers across the country.

The programming also draws interest for those in America's urban centres who have an interest in the traditional country music, rural lifestyle, equine and western sports programming.

The system-wide launch of RFD-TV in HD is the latest in a long-standing relationship. Mediacom was the first cable system to distribute RFD-TV in September of 2002, and more recently, the two partnered on Rural Town Hall, a forum where each of the 2016 Presidential candidates about their views on issues pertaining to rural America.

"Mediacom serves smaller cities and towns across America," said Thomas Larsen, Mediacom SVP of government and public relations. "The high quality of RFD-TV's rural lifestyle programming has great appeal to our customers."
